I've been away for two weeks this year, no where exciting, can't afford it! (Man I can't wait for that first wage!)
We went down to Dorset for a week and stayed at my friend's parents' holiday cottage. It was lovely and on one day temperatures reached 29C!! It was well and truly scorching. I came back looking like I'd been abroad for a week! We stayed in a lovely little village called Charmouth, with Lyme Regis only 3 miles away and lots of other lovely towns and beaches. Only downside was that all the beaches were pebble beaches so excruciating on our feet! I may have to bite the bullet and buy a pair of crocs if I go back...putting wet feet into walking shoes is not an experience I want to repeat anytime soon!
We then went up to Scotland for a week to visit my parents. Dunno about you but I always find myself becoming really lazy when I'm with my parents and regress a bit back to a bratty teen!

Maybe in a few years I'll be able to fly off to far and exotic places, but I really enjoyed my holiday this year. It was lovely to go away and take the dog with us and see my best mate. I think a British holiday is really under-rated, we had a great time!
