A Coastal Scents Haul!

O...K.....so maybe I've gone a wee bit more shopping. After hearing about Coastal Scents palattes from....everyone and reading some really good reviews of their HD Foundation I decided to put a small order in and get the foundation. So, I seem to have a lot of foundation at the moment...but I bought this as I'll be graduating from University at the end of this week and the cameras will be flashing I'm sure.

I was horribly disorganised this year and I have to say a HUGE thank you to Oxford Jasmine (read her blog here, she is the loveliest online guru I've had the fortune of finding and chatting with and she's always more than willing to help you out with any make up questions.) who came to my rescue as I ordered a bit late and was worried my goodies wouldn't arrive in time; she offered to send me a small sample of the foundation if it didn't arrive, so that I would look flawless for my big day. Thankfully my parcel has arrived, so wanna see some photos? (Sorry, gets very image heavy from here)

The unopened parcel...I was savouring the moment and resisting the urge to just rip the thing apart!

Close up of the sticker on the front.

Everything still packaged neatly, the pigment eyeshadow at the bottom was sent as a free sample.

The main attraction! This is the famous HD Foundation in ST-3B. It looks like it will be the perfect shade, but will do a quick LOTD tomorrow and do a full review once I've had the chance to test this out properly!

A pair of "Refillable powder dispensing pump brushes". I've been looking for one of these for absolutely ages and couldn't find one anywhere (well...I found one for about £20 but I wasn't willing to pay that!). These were $1.99 each and I bought one for my mum as well. I'm going to a wedding soon so I think this with some mineral foundation in it will be perfect for quick and subtle touch ups.

I also bought a "Taklon flat liner concealer brush" that's the head you can see and the handle is clear plastic. It sits nicely in your hand and has a good weight to it. I bought this mostly for cream eyeshadows and to line the eyes. I'll let you know how I find it. You can also see the pigment I was sent free. It's called Pearl Dust eyeshadow and it's a lovely shimmery light colour, I think this is what pixie dust would look like!

Here it is swatched, dry on bare skin, no primer underneath. I think it would make a lovely highlighter colour, I'll try it out tomorrow, but I think I may end up giving this to my mum, she really suits light colours like this whereas I prefer a darker look for my eyes. She'll just have to wait and see how generous I'm feeling!

So that's my haul for today, hope you liked it. Have you tried any of the Coastal Scents products before? What did you think?

(I am not affiliated with Coastal Scents or any other company mentioned, all products featured were bought by me and all opinions expressed are my own.)

  1. I have some of their brushes and I also got some brush guards and a couple of empty jars (with a sifter) from them! The brushes are nice! :) Let us know what you think about the hd foundation! :)

  2. I'm not overly impressed with the refillable brushes, but I'll certainly do a big review soon!

  3. Nice one Zebada! Just watch out for the foundation dispenser - it squirts to kill so turn it upside down and gently pump it in to your hand. Trust me, I have ended up with it in my eyes, hair, all over my clothes! But it is worth it for flawless coverage. I also have the liner brush, it is soft but precise too. Enjoy and have a good graduation ceremony! :)

  4. Lol "squirts to kill" that had me giggling for a long time! Thanks for all the tips, I'll definitely be bearing them in mind when I try it out tomorrow (is it ridiculous to be SO excited about trying a new foundation?) I will definitely post pictures of the ceremony up, I can't believe that's been 3 years already and I'm half way through my training! :)

  7. They're from coastal scents Terri, http://www.coastalscents.com

This one is lovely Vic, (have a look at the LOTD I've just done). But it is more expensive than the Sleek one. I'll upload my review of the Sleek liquid one hopefully tomorrow and I'll review this one fully next week :) Xxx
